Welcome to Mae’s Cottage Bakery, where we specialize in allergy-friendly homemade treats, including amazing cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. From classic cakes to seasonal specialties, we have something for everyone.

I’m Mae Thompson — the owner of Mae’s Cottage Bakery! I grew up in the Troy/Brunswick area, and my journey into the world of gluten-free baking started when I was about 10 years old. At the time, my mother, older sister, and younger brother were all diagnosed with celiac disease. That was my first introduction to gluten-free living. When I was 14, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, which led me to adopt a gluten- and dairy-free lifestyle myself. I started experimenting with gluten- and dairy-free baking in my free time. It didn’t come naturally at first, but I kept practicing, testing, and pushing myself to improve. I’ve recently graduated from high school, and I’m dedicating this next year to growing my business while also taking foundational baking courses at a local college.

My cupcakes are a classic fan favorite, perfect for any event or celebration. I offer timeless flavors like Vanilla, Chocolate, Red Velvet, and Carrot Cake, as well as more fun and decadent options such as Funfetti-Filled, Stuffed Reese’s Peanut Butter, Lemon, Strawberry, Chocolate Raspberry, Chocolate Hazelnut, Sea Salt Caramel, Cookies & Cream, plus rotating specialty flavors during the holidays!

Cupcakes are available by the dozen, with a minimum order of 12. If you’d like custom decorations or a specific theme, please include those details when reaching out about your order. Cupcake pricing depends on the size you choose.

Seasonal Flavors

Along with my everyday favorites, I love to feature special seasonal cookie flavors throughout the year! In the fall, you can expect cozy treats like pumpkin spice and apple cider. During the holiday season, festive flavors such as peppermint, gingerbread, and seasonal twists on my classics are featured on the menu. In the spring, lighter, fresh flavors like lemon, strawberry, and fun pastel-inspired cupcakes pop in for a limited time.

These flavors rotate in and out, so be sure to stay tuned and grab them while they last!
